all about Dani

Dani is a psychotherapist in training at New York University who is passionate about helping individuals build healthier and more balanced relationships with themselves, their goals, their identity, and their overall well-being. As a former collegiate student athlete, her experiences competing in high-performance environments deeply shaped the way she understands mental health, self-worth, burnout, and resilience.

Balancing the demands of athletics, academics, injury, recovery, and identity showed her how closely self-worth can become tied to achievement and how easily burnout, anxiety, and perfectionism can take over when mental health is neglected. These experiences continue to influence Dani’s approach to therapy and the way she connects with clients.

She is especially drawn to working with individuals who feel pressure to constantly perform, hold themselves to extremely high standards, or struggle to slow down without guilt, both on and off the field. She believes that growth and resilience are built not through constant pressure, but through greater self-awareness, balance, and self-compassion. Dani values creating a space where clients feel understood, supported, and able to show up authentically. Her approach emphasizes whole-person care, recognizing the deep connection between mental and physical well-being.

Outside of her clinical work, Dani is passionate about fitness, spending time with family and friends, and continuing to learn in ways that help her grow both personally and professionally. She cares deeply about building genuine relationships and believes that growth often happens through self-awareness, community, and the moments we share with others. These values continue to shape who she is and how she hopes to show up as a therapist.

Areas of exploration with clients: Anxiety, depression, self esteem, perfectionism, burnout, sports performance, life transitions, relationships, LGBTQ+, and Identity development

Modalities used: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family System (IFS), Relational Work, and Mindfulness based approaches.

how she works

Dani’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in authenticity. She believes therapy works best when clients feel safe enough to be honest while also feeling supported enough to challenge themselves and grow. Drawing from both her clinical training and personal experiences as a student athlete, Dani understands how difficult it can be to navigate perfectionism, burnout, identity shifts, pressure, and self criticism. She works with clients to better understand these patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop healthier ways of coping, understanding their identity, relating to themselves, and setting goals.

She draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, relational work, and mindfulness based approaches to help clients build insight, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop coping tools that feel supportive and sustainable. Dani believes mental health and physical well being are deeply connected. Her work emphasizes balance and consistency rather than constant performance or productivity.

She helps clients strengthen confidence, resilience, and self trust while creating space for rest, self reflection, and emotional processing. She values meeting clients where they are and recognizes that growth looks different for everyone. Dani aims to create a therapeutic environment that feels genuine, nonjudgmental, and empowering, where clients can explore challenges openly while working toward meaningful and lasting change.

Whether someone is navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the pressures that come with high achievement environments, Dani’s goal is to help clients feel more grounded, connected, and confident in themselves both inside and outside of therapy.
