Emma Leppo

Psychotherapist

Welcome to a transformative path towards healing and self-discovery. As a dedicated psychotherapist, Emma’s mission is to guide you towards a more fulfilling and balanced life. Drawing from her diverse background as a fashion designer and artist, she brings a unique perspective to therapy, recognizing the profound connection between mental health and creative expression.

Her clinical training includes mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD and complex trauma - as well as the intersection of these and other clinical disorders with creativity. She now specializes in working with artists and innovators on balancing their mental health and creative work. She does this through helping clients learn about their own creative style, remove blocks, connect to their intuition, reduce imposter syndrome, increase emotion regulation, and develop sustainable habits that support their work. In addition, she works on concerns related to stress and burnout, confidence/self-esteem, resilience, and spirituality among others.

Emma believes in the use of a holistic approach to facilitate meaningful change. She draws from multiple theories depending on the needs of her client, and is most influenced by psychodynamic, psycho-spiritual, internal family systems (IFS/parts work), mindfulness-based, EFT, multicultural, and strength-based coaching for a personalized approach that is tailored to the unique needs and goals of her clients. Additionally, she is trained in and utilizes both Jungian Shadow Work and "The Tools" by Phill Stutz and Barry Michels when relevant and of interest to her clients.

Emma holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), BA in Psychology from the University of Washington, and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling at Columbia University. In addition to her therapeutic work Emma is a certified yoga instructor, facilitates mediations, and does creative consulting for companies and organizations looking to support a work culture conducive to creativity.

Clients interested in working with Emma can expect a collaborative, challenging and embodied approach to personal and professional development. Whether you’re engaged in creative work or purely interested in the creative act of healing, Emma is dedicated to helping you find greater alignment and achieve your goals inside and outside of therapy.
