Annam (pronounced Ah-num) is a compassionate therapist who combines warmth and curiosity in her work, offering a safe and supportive space for individual clients and couples alike. With a background in both mental health and writing, she merges clinical expertise with creative insight, guiding clients as they explore and make sense of their stories and lived experiences. Having grown up in a diverse New York landscape, Annam brings in a nuanced understanding of culture, immigration, and the complexities that shape city life.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at NYU and holds a B.A. in English and Asian Areas of exploration with clients: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief & loss, perfectionism, stress management & burnout (including academic or career concerns), life transitions, relationships & intimacy, maternal mental health, women's issues, culture & intersectionality, neurodiversity, spirituality & faith, and body image.

Modalities used: internal family systems (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychodynamic, and somatic therapy.

how she works

Many of Annam's clients are navigating the intricacies of identity and family dynamics. They may be facing relationship challenges, such as concerns about dating or friendships, or dealing with stress or burnout from work, school, or perfectionism. Some carry the weight of depression, anxiety, or trauma. Often, they are deep thinkers and feelers who quietly manage their struggles. By tailoring her therapeutic techniques to each client’s unique needs, Annam ensures they feel seen and understood without having to over-explain or justify their feelings.

By combining a holistic and eclectic mix of approaches—such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, and somatic techniques—Annam supports clients in untangling persistent patterns and reconnecting with parts of themselves that may have gone overlooked. Alongside this deeper work, she will collaborate with clients to create practical coping strategies, helping them feel empowered to face any challenges with greater ease and resilience.
